Aesthetic Tweakments in Time for Summer!

By May 29, 2023No Comments

Summer is one of the busiest times for aesthetic clinics, especially with clients jetting off on holidays. In recent years, there has been a move towards subtle non-invasive tweakments (‘tweak’ and ‘treatment’) in time for their plans, but what are some of our clinic favourite summer aesthetic treatments?

Skin Boosters

After we say goodbye to the harsh, cold weather this winter, our skin is often left feeling dull, grey and dry. Skin boosters however are the secret ingredient to rectifying this, and achieving summer-ready skin in no time. It is a non-invasive tweakment that is on the rise  due to it’s quick and effective results.

Most skin boosters use substances such as hyaluronic acid that hydrate the skin, improve the elasticity and plump which leaves your skin looking glowing and healthy.

At Refine, we recommend our best selling skin booster Profhilo H+L. It remodels the outer layer of the skin, revitalising the texture and treats skin laxity. It also fills in lines and wrinkles. Profhilo H+L is favoured for it’s versatile uses as it can be injected in areas of the face such as the cheeks, the neck, chest and even the backs of your hands.

Risks and Side Effects:

There are minimal side effects to Profhilo it is possible that you may experience redness, swelling, or discomfort at the injection site. It is recommended that you avoid alcohol or any anti inflammatory medication 24 hours before treatment.

Dermal Fillers

Whilst skin boosters work from the inside, dermal fillers work the outside appearance of the skin. They are a minimally invasive treatment also that can give subtle, natural results. This makes them the ideal summer aesthetic treatment, with minimal downtime and minimal fuss!

Our favourite for summer is Eloquence Fine. It is a high elasticity hyaluronic acid filler. It is the lightest dermal filler in the Eloquence range. It’s specially designed to rejuvenate superficial lines including expression lines. It’s ideally used around the eyes, particularly in the outer corners, but it can also be used to define areas of the face, including lips.

It is also our favourite for achieving the Russian Lip Technique, which focuses more on height of the lips, and defining the cupid’s bow, as opposed to the overall plump the classic technique can achieve.

The effects of Eloquence Fine can last around 6–18 months. The longevity is dependant upon factors such as the client’s age, metabolism and the area being treated. Treatments can be repeated after 6 months to achieve your desired look.

Risks and Side Effects:

There a minimal risks and side effects to Eloquence Fine, but you may experience some redness, swelling and bruising at the injection site, but this should reduce within a couple of days.

Fat Dissolving Injections

Often, our body stores more fat in the winter due to factors such as increased calorie intake during the holiday periods and a lack of vitamin D. It can be difficult to lose stubborn fat, especially after exercising and dieting to get that perfect summer body.

A solution to this is using a fat dissolving injection. The injection contains a solution of water, plant polymers and an active substance that is naturally found within the human body.

We recommend Aqualyx. It is a popular and revolutionary fat dissolving injection that is a non-surgical approach to reducing localised fat on the face (chin), stomach, thighs, back, knees and other points of the body where fat can be difficult to lose.

Aqualyx works by breaking up and liquefying the fat cheeks. Lipids are then released and are naturally released and drained through the lymphatic system. The lymphatic system drains and manages fluid levels in the body.

Some benefits of Aqualyx are:

  • It is a minimally invasive in comparison to other fat dissolving treatments such as liposuction.
  • It will permanently remove fat from the body (as long as weight isn’t gained after the treatment).
Risks & side effects:
  • Bruising
  • Redness
  • Skin irritation
  • Swelling

Side effects depend on the client and the area being treated, but they should go away after a few days. Aqualyx is not suitable however for pregnant or breastfeeding women or patients who suffer from conditions such as heart disease, cancer and arthritis.
