What is Minerva PDO W-Cutting?
Minerva PDO W-Cutting is a cog thread. PDO cog threads have barbs that latch onto the skin to provide support and lift the face. This product minimises bleeding, pain and bruising. It is mostly used with a thick suture thread.
What are PDO thread lifts?
Thread lifts are a procedure which uses a dissolvable suture to tighten and lift the skin. It’s less invasive than facelift surgery, and is much quicker, making it a popular alternative to surgery.
The sutures in your skin trigger cells called fibroblasts to produce more collagen. Collagen gives the skin structure and elasticity. As we age, our bodies produce less collagen, so PDO threads can stimulate the skin tissue to produce more collagen.
Results can last for around 6 months to a year. In younger people, the results can last longer. As the procedure is less invasive than surgery, PDO threads are used together with other anti-ageing procedures, such as dermal filler.
Are there any side effects?
PDO threads have fewer risks than facelift surgeries, and there’s less risk of scarring, severe bruising, or bleeding.
Some complications or side effects include:
- pain
- minor bruising
- inflammation
Other side effects that are rare include snapping of threads, infection, hair loss, dimpling of the skin, and salivary gland injury.
